Conference to Commemorate the Heavenly Hundred
A mini-conference/briefing in the U.S. Congress to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the Revolution of Dignity. The purpose of the conference is to gather current and former U.S. government officials and Ukraine experts who actively supported the Ukrainian people’s aspirations during the 3-month revolution. Officials and experts will examine the U.S. response to the revolution and provide an analysis of the strengthening of U.S.-Ukraine relations since the revolution.
A special conference will take place in Washington, D.C. to mark the 5-year anniversary of the Heavenly Hundred – Небесна Сотня. Organized by the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA), the largest representative organization of Americans of Ukrainian descent, this event will be an opportunity to honor the tragic sacrifice of those brave heroes, to remember the contribution they made to a freer Ukraine, and to discuss the legacy of the Revolution of Dignity, 5 years removed from those historic events.
Both policy-makers and eyewitnesses have been invited to present on both the historical significance of the Euromaidan movement and its activists, and the integral role the organized Ukrainian-American diaspora community played in assisting their homeland since 2014. Following two panel discussions, the conference will culminate with a keynote address by a high-level government official.
As a follow-up to the midterm elections, the Ukrainian National Information Service (UNIS) is requesting that Ukrainian communities meet with their re-elected or newly-elected Members of Congress in your local districts.
