I am writing you from Tucson, Arizona, USA. I grew up in Uniondale and remember members of the Ukrainian community living there very well. I recollect the pride within the Ukrainian community when the St. Vladimir Community Center was built on Uniondale Avenue! I’m calling on my fellow graduates of Uniondale High School and all residents of Uniondale to give whatever financial means they have available to support the people of Ukraine who are fighting with deep strength & commitment against the insane actions of Putin & his aggressors. Please reflect on the painful lessons of history and realize what can happen when the type of destruction in which Putin is engaging is allowed to destroy a culture. Please support this drive to provide basic human needs for the people of the Ukraine. We are every race, religion, gender and social group but yet we are all ONE. We must stand together against this destruction and slaughter by Putin. It must stop now and it is up to us to do so.
