Centennial Concert Series: Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus of North America

June 22 @ 7:00 pm

We’re excited to invite you to come to listen and learn the story of the Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus (UBC) — a 100-year-old men’s folk ensemble featuring the bandura, an incredible 65-stringed instrument that is the national voice of Ukraine.

Under Artistic Director and Conductor Oleh Mahlay, the Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus returns to New York City to present its Centennial Bandura Program most recently showcased on their historic Centennial Tour of Ukraine in October of 2018.

Purchase tickets here.

The UBC is not only the Bandura choir of the US—but it’s also the leader in technical development for the instrument, Ukrainian folk music education, and Ukrainian classical music in the diaspora. There are 80,000 Ukrainians in the NYC metro region alone—and almost all of them have a bandura or bandura album in their home.

The bandura has found audiences in Central Park!

We look forward to sharing our story—a story of music, cultural identity, and 1000+ years of history—with you.
