Journalist David Kieve interviews Olena, a refugee from Kharkiv. She and her family survived for two weeks on the front line and withstood constant bombing and shelling from Russian invaders. Olena managed to escape with her family to the United States. She describes her family’s experiences and sufferings while hiding in their basement with their 10-year-old son, as well as the horrors of war that millions of Ukrainians are facing daily. Her heart-wrenching interview is the story of their bravery and the countless kindnesses of others along the way.
